Quality of Life
Upon entering the lobby of our single-level facility, visitors immediately sense that Berkshire is indeed the residents home. Once living with us, residents can decorate their well-appointed, attractive rooms with personal belongings. And families are strongly encouraged to join their loved ones as active members of our Care Team and to also bring suggestions and issues directly to our hands-on Administrator.
Since 1965, Berkshire has succeeded in serving the long-term and short-term needs of thousands of residents, earning a reputation every day for exceptional care and extraordinary compassion.
The rehabilitation and care of our residents' functioning, health and well-being are achieved through the coordinated efforts of many professionals. The skills of our nurses promote healing and recovery, pain-free care, and genuine comfort. Outstanding local physicians, when not in attendance, are on call, and when necessary, provide continuity of care in our nearby hospital. With encouragement and individually-designed plans, our physical and occupational therapy departments competently restore strength, mobility, and function to residents with fractures, amputations, knee/hip replacements, and strokes, enabling many of them to return home. Geriatrically oriented dental podiatric, and optometric services are provided on premises. And when required, psychological and psychiatric care alleviates the stresses and behaviors stemming from anxiety and dementia-like illnesses.
